Hello everybody! My name is Dave Yankowiak and let me welcome you to my new project: AnywhereMan. I will be posting insight into using technology to expand your “office” and work from “anywhere.”
I’ve had the idea of creating this site for a while now, and with the pending economic situation in the USA, I am trying to jumpstart the process a bit. I have a passion for work arrangements that involve freelancing and/or remote work environments such as telecommuting, and I would like to share the things I have learned on this site.
Now, more than ever, the idea of allowing employees to spend some or all of their work hours from a home or remote office makes sense for companies looking to save overhead dollars, or employees trying to save some commute time and gas money. I personally worked for a web firm in St. Paul, MN from a remote office for a few years and it was a great arrangement. Now I am a full-time, work-from-home freelancer with clients in many locations.
A lot of people looking to move into that type of work arrangement may not know where to start. Hopefully you can get the ball rolling by reading the articles I post on AnywhereMan or by browsing some of the resources I provide. There are already a number of great sites and services out there which helped me when I started, and I will be sharing those as I get going.
