Thanks Mitchell! Do you think FriendFeed is the better conversation tool because it has fewer users/spammers than Twitter? I've got an account there which is hooked up to my Twitter feed, but I guess I haven't spent a lot of time on it. Would love to hear how you're using it differently than a site like Twitter. Great post! Agreed, twitter doesn't make such a great broadcast tool, but the value is in the conversations; the feedback and views you never would have thought of! Although I gotta say, Friendfeed seems to be a better conversation tool – see your on there too Dave!

I got an excellent response to this very question last week from @smashadv when he replied “I see 99% of people on Twitter as kind human beings worthy of my trust. Has very little to do w/biz.”

I took from this that it's the conversations which are most important.

Excellent response Dave. You got to the key point that I was thinking as well. So many people think that Twitter is a broadcasting tool but don't bother to stop and listen (including myself at times). If all you're doing is broadcasting I am not certain that many people are actually listening. They are way to busy broadcasting themselves.

Anyway, great response. Enjoyed it.

I follow 800 people and 300 ppl follow me. There is no intersection between the two sets of people. The people I follow and listen are entrepreneurs and exexcutives, who never follow me back and the 300 people who follow me, I never follow back, because I don't want to listen to them
