I Love To Improvise

Today, MBOPartners asked the following question to freelancers and consultants like you and me: “Why do you love working for yourself?”

My answer: improvisation. I love making it up as I go. I love doing things a little bit differently each time. That doesn’t mean I don’t have a vision for things, but I love making adjustments on the fly.

Why do YOU love working for yourself?

    Great post Dave. I too enjoy and appreciate the opportunity to improvise in my work. There is no doubt that the greatest amount of my time each day is spent just thinking about how to evolve the user experience on amplify in the most positive way possible. The opportunity and challenge of trying to make that happen is very stimulating for me. When i do a good job it's extremely rewarding, but when i don't, it's painful. Dealing with the ups and downs and staying focused is what it's about for me. Well, that's a little more than you asked for, but you got me going :)

    Nice video Dave.. I love working in an area that is so new and exciting. I love to be able to talk to Samsung's customers at 2am and work on a Facebook page to try to make it something people actually want to visit and play with. Challenging + Fun.

    Every day I get a little bit closer! I love that I can create great things while actually enjoying what I love to do! Not to mention while I do it from places of my choosing!
